Two people burned in house fire: police

(AAP) A man and a woman have suffered life-threatening burns in a fire that destroyed a house in NSW's far north.

Emergency crews that rushed to the blaze at Goonellabah, near Lismore, about 10:30pm
(AEDT) on Friday night, found the home engulfed in flames.
Police say five people had managed to escape before it was completely destroyed.
But two of them, a 35-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman, were taken by ambulance
to Lismore Base Hospital with severe burns.
They were later airlifted to the burns unit at Royal Brisbane Hospital where they
conditions were listed as critical.
The other three people, a 16-year-old girl, a 32-year-old man and a 35-year-old man,
escaped without injury.
