MILLI MAJLIS CHAIRMAN MEETS VIETNAMESE AMBASSADOR
Baku, February 7 (AzerTAc). Chairman of Azerbaijan`s Parliament Ogtay Asadov met
Saturday with Vietnam`s newly appointed Ambassador to the country Bui Din Zin.
Asadov said Azerbaijan and Vietnam have good relations which date back to the USSR
period.
The Milli Majlis chairman stressed there are good opportunities for expansion of
bilateral economic cooperation, especially in oil sector.
Touching upon the interparliamentary cooperation, Asadov stressed the importance of
creating friendship groups in both parliaments.
Bui Din Zin in turn praised Azerbaijan`s rapid development and successes. He said
Azerbaijan supported Vietnam both during the war and after it. Din Zin also recalled
nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev`s trip to Vietnam in 1983 during which, according to
the Vietnamese envoy, he attended inauguration of a large bridge.
The Speaker and Ambassador also discussed the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over
Nagorno-Karabakh.
