Qatar Stock Exchange Index Lost 7.49 Points This Week

Doha, May 18 (QNA) - Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) lost 7.49 points (-0.7%) this week when the bourse closed Thursday afternoon at 10,103.35 points. Trading value during this week increased by 13.02% to reach QR 1,300,618,369.19 compared to QR1,150,739,799.19. Trading volume decreased by 1.12% to reach 44,292,837 shares, as against 44,796,020 shares, while the number of transactions fell by 12.96%, to reach 13,033 transactions as compared to 14,974 transactions. Trading value during this week decreased by 14.77% to reach QR 1,021,164,909.31 compared to QR 1,198,150,625.08. Market capitalization fell by 0.56% to reach QR537,494,768,089.38 as compared to QR 540,526,315,619.89 at the end of previous week. The Banking and Financial Services sector led trading value during this week with 38.25% of the total trading value, Real Estate sector accounted for 21.45%. The Telecoms sector accounted for 15.69%, and finally followed by Industrials sector accounted for 9.37%. The Telecoms sector led trading volume this week with 35.53% of the total trading volume, followed by Banks and Financial Services sector, which accounted for 30.09%. The Real Estate sector ranked third, accounting for 22.99%, and finally followed by Industrials sector, which accounted for 3.58%. The Banks and Financial Services sector led trading number of transactions this week with 40.12% of the total number of transactions, Real Estate sector accounted for 13.39%. The Telecoms sector accounted for 13.24%, and finally Industrials sector accounted for 13.03%. From the 44 listed companies 19 ended this week higher, while 23 fell and two companies unchanged. The Vodafone Qatar led trading value during this week with 14.04% of the total trading value, followed by Barwa Real Estate ,which accounted for 11.01%. The QNB ranked third, accounting for 9.10%.
