Thailand to attend ASTANA Expo 2017 in Kazakhstan

BANGKOK, May 23 (TNA) -- Thailand plans to participate in the upcoming ASTANA Expo 2017 held in Kazakhstan under the theme of “Future Energy” to display the country’s bioenergy technologies. The international exposition is scheduled to take place between June 10 and September 10 in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. Minister of Energy Anantaporn Kanjanarat said Thailand had been allotted 934.05 square meters area for the Thailand Pavilion to be built under the “Bio-energy for All” concept at the Expo. Thailand’s presence at the Expo was intended to showcase the country’s potential for developing renewable energy, particularly biofuels, he said. The Pavilion divided into three main exhibition rooms will among more than 110 pavilions representing countries across the world. Gen Anantaporn said he expected Thailand Pavilion would be among the most attended at the Expo attracting at least 500,000 people. Not only the energy sector, Thailand plans to showcase its culture, tourism and cuisine at the Astana Expo as well. (TNA)
