CHASING HOLLYWOOD DREAMS THROUGH LOCAL REALITY SHOW

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 11 (Bernama) -- A new reality television programme, "Worldstars - Road to Hollywood", will be aired from next month, showcasing talents from local aspiring actors.

The programme is aimed at selecting participants from the country to compete
in the World Championship of Performing Arts (WCPA) 2009 in Hollywood from July
11-19.

Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister Mohd Shafie Apdal said the
programme would provide opportunities to aspiring actors to make a name for
themselves at the international level.

"With this programme, the young talents can now aimed to achieve their
Hollywood dreams," he told reporters after launching the programme here Tuesday.

The 13-series programme, produced by the All Stars Performing Arts (M) Sdn
Bhd in collaboration with the Information Ministry, would be aired over national
television station every Tuesday from March 17 to May 12 at 8pm.

Twenty-two participants aged between 16 and 29 years would be chosen to
represent Malaysia in five performance categories namely vocal, instruments,
dancing, modelling and acting.
