PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV HOLDS MEETING WITH HEADS OF LAW-ENFORCEMENT BODIES

Baku, February 11 (AzerTAc). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today presided
at a meeting of heads of law-enforcement bodies over the murder of commander of
Azerbaijan Defense Ministry`s Air Force and Air Defense Troops, Deputy Defense
Minister Rail Rzayev.

Opening the meeting President Ilham Aliyev said:
“I strongly condemn this bloody crime and extend my profound condolences to Rail
Rzayev`s family and friends. May Allah rest his soul in peace!
I demand from law-enforcement bodies that all committers of this terrible killing
and plotters be brought to trial. I know that investigative groups have been formed,
the work is underway, and there is initial information. Azerbaijani government has
huge possibilities, and every perpetrator should be and is held accountable for the
criminal act against us - state system and civilians. I want to say against that
Azerbaijan government is capable of defending itself. Our people suffered acts of
terrorism in early 1990s, which killed innocent people. We witnessed it during
various periods. Nevertheless, all these bloody cases were cleared and criminals
have been punished. During various times, some forces make attempts to exacerbate
political situation in Azerbaijan. However, Azerbaijani public knows very well that
law-enforcement bodies take very possible measures to prevent these crimes,
apprehend and annihilate gangs. I hope that perpetrators of this terrible act will
face criminal charges.
