PRESIDENT VISITS PERTAMINA HEADQUARTERS

Jakarta, Feb. 12 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono made a working visit to the headquarters of state oil and gas company PT Pertamina here on Thursday.

The head of state arrived at the Pertamina Hq at around 2 pm local time and was accompanied by a number of ministers, including Minister/State Secretary Hatta Radjasa.

New Pertamina President Director Karen Agustiawan and some Pertamina directors greeted President Yudhoyono.

Before the president, Pertamina's directors would make a presentation on the company's performance in 2008 and business plan in 2009.

Karen Agustiawan was inaugurated as the new president director of Pertamina to replace Ari H Soemarno, and Omar S Anwar was installed as the new vice president director to replace Iin Arfin Takhyan, last February 5, 2009.

Karen Agustiawan was previously Pertamina's upstream operations director, and Omar S Anwar was former Rio Tinto president director.

Among the company's new commissioners inaugurated that day were Gita Wiryawan, Sumarsono and Humayun Bosha.

Pertamina's new president director Karen Agustiawan held her first hearing with the House of Representatives (DPR)'s Commission VII last Tuesday (Feb. 10).

In the meeting, the DPR Commission VII has asked Karen Agustiawan to prove her capability in leading the enterprise.
