GAZA`S DESTRUCTION: HAMAS WANTS US, ISRAEL CHARGED

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 12 (Bernama) -- Hamas, the party that is governing
Palestine, wants Israel and its ally, the United States, to be brought to book
for causing massive destruction on the Gaza Strip following Israel's 22-day
bombing raids.

Hamas senior spokesman, Sami Abu Zuhri said efforts were being taken to
gather information and proof against the war criminals concerned.

"We actually invite all the humanitarian organisations or associations to
sue these people, whether they are the officers, leaders or soldiers who started
the war in Gaza," he said at a press conference after receiving a donation of
almost RM1 million from the Gaza Appeals Fund organised by the Harakah
Humanitarian Fund, here Thursday.

He also called on the Malaysian government to recognise Hamas because it was
the party chosen officially and legally in a free election to govern Palestine.

Earlier in his speech, Sami, who spoke in Arabic wich was translated
into both the Malay and English language, said Hamas had won the war in the Gaza
Strip which led to the Zionist regime declaring a ceasefire.

He said the Hamas' struggles in Palestine had not ended and they pledged to
free the Al-Aqsa Mosque from Israeli control.

He said Hamas would not accept any form of peace treaty proposed by Israel's
strong ally, the US, during the ceasefire.

Sami also called on the people who wished to assist the Palestinian people
to use the proper agency or channel as he feared the aid or assistance
contributed would not reach the people of Gaza.
