AZERI FM MEETS DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF POLITICAL DIRECTORATES OF UK FOREIGN AND COMMONWEALTH OFFICE

Baku, February 13 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met Friday with Mark Justin Lyall Grant, Director-General of Political Directorates of UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

Grant said his country enjoys close and fruitful cooperation with Azerbaijan. He
also told of prospects for development of bilateral relationship.
Grant stressed the necessity of carrying out the EU`s Eastern Partnership program in
terms of the region`s development. He added the program could also contribute to
establishing peace in the South Caucasus region.
Minister Mammadyarov, in turn, praised the level of relations between Azerbaijan and
UK.
He underlined the importance of the Eastern Partnership program for deepening
Azerbaijan`s relations with EU member countries.
On the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, the Minister said the
dispute could only be settled on the basis of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
The sides also discussed other issues on mutual interest.
