Cabinet approves strategic plan on logistics

BANGKOK, Aug 16 (TNA) -- The cabinet endorsed the 3rd strategic plan on logistics to support 20-year national strategies to promote Thailand as a high-income country. Kobsak Pootrakul, vice minister of the Prime Minister’s Office, said the 3rd strategic plan on logistics would be implemented from this year to 2021 and focus on trade and services to turn Thailand into a high-income economy within 2036. Under the plan, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives will guarantee the quality of farm products from farms through processing to consumers and will implement measures to reduce losses and waste. Besides, Thailand will be the export center of farm products from neighboring countries to their export destinations, especially China. Operators in agricultural and industrial sectors will be trained on logistics and supply chains to cut costs and increase efficiency in the transportation of their products, Mr Kobsak said. (TNA)
