BAKU IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR ISLAMIC CULTURE AND CIVILIZATION, ISESCO CHIEF
Baku, February 18 (AzerTAc). Baku is a very important and historic country for the
Islamic culture and civilization, said Director-General of the Islamic Educational,
Scientific and Cultural Organization, ISESCO, Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, who
arrived here to attend the official launch of the “Baku - the Capital of Islamic
Culture 2009” culture year.
He said “today`s event is very significant for the Islamic world”, adding the
Azerbaijani capital “today combines past, present and future of the Islamic world”.
“ISESCO and the Organization of the Islamic Conference today proudly celebrate a
solemn opening of the “Baku - the Capital of Islamic Culture 2009” culture year”.
Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri said Azerbaijan and its President had always been held in
great respect within the organization.
