PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV RECEIVES ISESCO DIRECTOR GENERAL

Baku, February 18 (AzerTAc). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received today
Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization
(ISESCO) Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri.
The ISESCO Director General thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the excellent
organization of the event devoted to Baku`s proclaiming as capital of Islamic
Culture.
He expressed satisfaction over the fact that numerous representatives from various
countries of the world attend the event. He also highly appreciated Baku`s hosting
the event.
Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri noted that the Azerbaijani people make great contribution
to world culture and world civilization. He stressed President Ilham Aliyev`s
special care for the culture of Azerbaijan. The Director General noted that
President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador
Mehriban Aliyeva had done a lot in this sphere, as well.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude to Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri for his
support for Baku`s selection as the capital of Islamic culture, and stressed
importance of this fact for Azerbaijan.
The Head of State said Baku`s selection as the capital of Islamic culture would
create opportunities for world countries including Islamic ones to get more
information about ongoing processes in Azerbaijan.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence that Azerbaijan would further contribute
to developing relations among the Islamic countries.
