INDIA`S CHEMEXCIL EYES TIE-UPS WITH MALAYSIANS
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 19 (Bernama) -- India's chemical and chemical-based
product manufacturers are keen to explore the possibility of entering into joint
ventures and marketing tie-ups with Malaysians.
India's High Commissioner to Malaysia, Ashok K. Kumar, said a 21-member
delegation from the Basic Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals and Cosmetics Export
Promotion Council (Chemexcil) was now in Malaysia to promote their products.
"They are seeking businesses and tie-ups with Association of South-East
Asian Nations companies, including those from Malaysia, in a move to expand
their regional market.
"The manufacturers and exporters are also interested to appoint Malaysian
agents to market their products here," he said.
Ashok said this after officiating at the Buyer Seller Meet organised by
Chemexcil here Thursday.
He said India was confident about prospects in Malaysia despite the world
economic downturn.
Meanwhile, the assistant director of Chemexcil, S.G. Bharudin, said the
council was interested to facilitate and support the joint ventures to help
boost trade.
Malaysia is the final stop of Chemexcil's delegation. It had visited
Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam.
