7th MEETING OF AZERBAIJAN-IRAN JOINT INTERGOVERNMENTAL COMMISSION HELD


Baku. February 19 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s capital has today hosted the 7th meeting
of the Azerbaijan-Iran Joint Intergovernmental Commission on economic, trade and
humanitarian cooperation.

The gathering ended with the signing of five documents aimed at continuing
negotiations – on the level of working groups – to develop cooperation in the fields
of transport, communication and information technologies, economy, trade, culture,
industry, power sector, and frontier and legal matters.
The commission`s Azerbaijani co-chair, FM Elmar Mammadyarov said he is satisfied
with outcomes of the meeting.
Iranian co-chair, FM Manouchehr Mottaki said Azerbaijan and Iran have had a long
history of bilateral relations, and expressed confidence they will be further
strengthened and promoted.
The next meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission will take place in
Tehran, and its date still needs to be agreed by the sides.
