MAS LOWERS FUEL SURCHARGE




KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 20 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will reduce fuel
surcharge from about six per cent to 55 per cent for travel from Malaysia to
selected international destinations.

The new fuel surcharge will apply for tickets issued on or after Friday, it
said in a statement.

With the reduction, the new surcharge for Penang-Medan flight is US$27, it
said.

Malaysia-Manila and Cebu (US$27), Malaysia-Taiwan (US$47), Malaysia-South
Korea (US$57), Malaysia-UAE/Saudi Arabia (US$85), Malaysia-Turkey/Lebanon
(US$95), Malaysia-Africa (US$95), Malaysia-North America (US$170) and
Malaysia-South America (US$250.

Earlier this month, the national carrier lowered fuel surcharge between 23
percent and 57 percent for travel from Malaysia to all Asean destinations
(excluding Manila, Cebu and Medan), Thailand, South Asia, Australia, New
Zealand, Europe, United Kingdom, Frankfurt and Paris.
