AZERBAIJANI PARLIAMENT DELEGATION MEETS MEMBERS OF AUSTRIAN PARLIAMENT`S WORKING GROUP

Vienna, 20 February (AzerTAc). Visiting Austria to attend the eighth winter meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, delegation of Azerbaijan Parliament has met yesterday with head of Austrian Parliament`s working group for South Caucasus and Central Asia Karl Ollinger and other members of the group.

During the meeting, parliamentarians discussed current state and prospects of
relations between the two countries. They said reciprocal visits would be of great
importance for further developing the relationship.
Vice-speaker of the Azerbaijan Parliament Bahar Muradova pointed out that many
countries are located in Central Asia and South Caucasus and it is so difficult for
one working group to have effective cooperation with all these countries. She said
creation of a separate working group on such a country like Azerbaijan would play a
special role in deepening bilateral relations. Muradova also called on the working
group to influence upon the parliament and government to open Austria`s embassy in
Azerbaijan.
Touching upon Azerbaijan-Austria relations, Ollinger said the parliament will
consider setting-up a separate working group soon.
He said his country attaches great importance to the South Caucasus, saying opening
of Austrian embassy in Azerbaijan is one of the priorities for the government.
