PU OIC DESCRIBES KHOJALI GENOCIDE AS GRAVE CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY
Baku, 20 February (AzerTAc). During its 11th session in Niamey, Niger, the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (PU OIC) member states condemned the Khojali genocide describing it as a “grave crime against humanity.”
The session`s participants called on the international community not to remain
indifferent toward such horrible acts.
Azerbaijan was represented at the event by the country`s parliamentary delegation to
PU OIC Govhar Bakhshaliyeva who briefed the participants on the Nagorno-Karabakh
conflict and the Khojali genocide.
Bakhshaliyeva told journalists PU OIC expressed regret that the Nagorno-Karabakh
conflict still remains unresolved. According to her, the session adopted a document
which demands unconditional withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from the occupied
territories of Azerbaijan.
Bakhshaliyeva noted PU OIC also called on the world community to contribute to
finding a way of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict`s soonest resolution.
Meanwhile, the session participants also discussed political, economic, cultural,
social and financial issues, as well as the current situation in Palestine and fight
against terrorism.
