KHOJALY TRAGEDY COMMEMORATED IN LATVIA

Baku, 24 February (AzerTAc). Events dedicated to the 15th anniversary of
Latvia-Azerbaijan diplomatic relations and the 17th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy
took place in Latvia.
The arrangements are supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Latvian Embassy to
Azerbaijan, “Ojag” cultural center of Azerbaijanis in Latvia and the Latvian
National Academic Library.
The Exhibition on Latvia-Azerbaijan relations, photo stand about Khojaly massacre
and “www.justiceforkhojaly.org” site were presented here.
Ambassador Tofig Zulfugarov told of history of Latvia-Azerbaijan diplomatic
relations and the Khojaly tragedy.
Head of the Latvian National Academic Library Mr. Kotsere told of friendly relations
between Azerbaijan and Latvia. Head of “Ojag” cultural center in Latvia Mr. Aliyev
distributed book “history of Azerbaijan” to the participants.
Latvian LTV Channel carried out a broadcast, while newspapers published articles on
the events.
