HEARINGS ON KHOJALY GENOCIDE HELD IN GNAT
Ankara, February 26 (AzerTAc). Hearings on the Khojaly genocide were held in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT).
Head of Turkey-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group Mustafa Kabakci told
of the Khojaly genocide. He said 613 innocent people were killed in Khojaly, while
487 wounded, 1275 taken hostage, with 150 of them still missing.
MP Shenol Bal described the Khojaly genocide as “the most horrible crime against
Azerbaijan and the Turkic world” and a “black spot in humanity.”
She added “some people in Khojaly were burnt alive, others had their eyes put out
and were scalped and beheaded; pregnant women were bayoneted in the stomach.”
She also noted “for 200 years, Armenians have been committing acts of genocide
against the Azerbaijani people.”
Bal also pointed out Armenians murdered hundred of thousands of Azerbaijanis and
made them leave their native lands in 1915, 1918 and 1920.
She also underlined that Armenia violating principles of international law has been
continuing its occupation policy against Azerbaijan.
To achieve normalization of relations with Turkey and opening of borders, Armenia
must recognize territorial integrity of Turkey, reject “genocide” claims and
unconditionally withdraw its armed forces from Azerbaijan`s occupied territories.
