MMVITAOILS SECURES DEALS AT GULFOOD 2009

DUBAI, Feb 28 (Bernama) -- MMVitaoils Sdn Bhd has secured deals to ship more than 50 containers of palm oil-based products to various Middle East countries at the just-concluded Gulfood 2009 food and beverage exhibition here.

The company's representative at the show, Mohamad Faizal Aris, described it
as an encouraging development considering the current economic downturn sweeping
the globe.

"We've received many enquiries on Malaysian palm oil-based products from
countries like Kuwait, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Pakistan and
others," he told Bernama of the company's second participation at Gulfood, the
first being in 2008.

MMVitaoils' products are available under the brand names of Serimas, Palmas,
Golden Treat and Halal Fats, among others.

Mohamad Faizal said following Gulfood 2008, MMVitaoils had been sending 20
containers of products valued at around RM1 million monthly to Dubai and other
markets in this region.

According to a MMVitaoils brochure, the palm oil and edible products
manufacturer markets 99 percent of its products overseas while the rest is for
local consumption.

Operating from its factory in Shah Alam, Selangor, the company manufactures
trans-free fatty acid shortening, cooking oil, margarine, pastry margarine and
vegetable ghee.

Mohamad Faizal described Gulfood as the best platform for the company to
expand its presence in the Middle East and beyond.

"We've received orders not only from Middle East countries but also Africa
and parts of Europe," he said.

MMVitaoils, he added, currently dealt directly with its customers and may
appoint a distributor to enhance its presence in the region.

Mohamad Faizal said more deals were expected to firm up in the wake of
Gulfood 2009.

Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade), Malaysia's
national trade promotion agency, brought in 46 companies for Gulfood 2009 which
ran from Feb 23 to 26.
