RUSSIAN EDUCATION MINISTER AND RECTOR OF MSU MEET TEACHING STAFF OF MOSCOW STATE UNIVERSITY` BAKU BRANCH

Baku, February 28 (AzerTAc). Russia`s Minister of Education and Science Andrey Fursenko and rector of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov Victor Sadovnichy met with the teaching staff and students of the Baku branch of Moscow State University, on February 27.

Addressing the meeting participants, rector of the branch, prof. Nargiz Pashayeva
praised participation of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev and top-ranking
representatives of Russia in official inauguration as a momentous event.
Mrs. Pashayeva underlined that the branch aims not only at education but also
opening the wide opportunities for joint work of the scientists of both countries.
She expressed her confidence that 75 students, who study here, will be worthy of
being a student of Moscow State University.
Mr. Fursenko noted that opening of the branch became possible due to initiative of
President Ilham Aliyev. He underlined that the educational institution will open
wide opportunities for research studies.
Rector MSU, academician Sadovnichy praised the literate teaching staff and students
of Baku branch. On the powerful scientific potential, academician emphasized that he
was acquainted with eminent scientists of Azerbaijan in the field of mathematics.
The teaching staff and students of the Moscow State University`s Baku branch
expressed their gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for initiative to open such
higher educational institution in Azerbaijan.
