New Thailand-Cambodia border crossing opened in Sa Kaeo

SA KAEO, March 31 (TNA) - The second Thailand-Cambodian permanent border crossing in Sa Kaeo is opened, aimed at further promoting economy and tourism business between the two neighbouring countries. The border crossing was opened Friday and was jointly presided over by Sa Kaeo governor Pornpot Penpas and his Cambodia’s Battambang governor, Ngun Ratanak. The permanent border checkpoint will also facilitate travelling directly to the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh. The new checkpoint opens daily from 6 am to 10 pm, similar to the permanent crossing point in Aranyaprathet district. Concerned authorities of the two countries will jointly prevent illegal entry as well as human trafficking, narcotics smuggling and crimes. Sa Kaeo officials said they plan to invite Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha to officially open the second border crossing in May. (TNA)
