INTERNATIONAL MUGHAM FESTIVAL DUE IN BAKU
Baku, 4 March (AzerTAc). Opening ceremony of the First International Mugham Festival will be held on March 20 at the Mugham Center in Baku. The Festival is organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Union of Composers under the support of the Ministry of Education, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and Friends to Azerbaijani Culture Foundation.
Famous Azerbaijani composer, Head of the Composers’ Union of Azerbaijan Firangiz
Alizade, who was appointed a curator of the Festival, will lead “The World of
Mugham” international scientific symposium, to be organized within the Festival.
The Festival will bring together musicians from Italy, Syria, Iraq, China, Morocco,
Uzbekistan, Iran, Egypt and India along with the Azerbaijani mugham performers.
The International Mugham Competition will be organized within the frames of the
Festival. The competition is meant for the participants under 35.
The closing ceremony and final concert are due on March 25 at the Heydar Aliyev
Palace.
