‘THE UNITED STATES WANTS AZERBAIJAN TO CONTINUE TO DEVELOP AS AN INDEPENDENT,

Baku, March 3 (AzerTAc). The United States wants Azerbaijan to continue to develop
as an independent, prosperous and democratic country, U.S. Ambassador to Baku Ann
Derse said Wednesday during a meeting with the Caspian Integration Business Club
(CEIBC).

The Ambassador noted her country supports “the development of Azerbaijan as a
powerful regional leader.”
Anne Derse also touched upon economic relations between Azerbaijan and the United
States.
She underscored a strong U.S.-Azerbaijan partnership is now more important than ever.
According to the Ambassador, Azerbaijan`s possible WTO membership would contribute
to developing the country`s non-oil sector.
During the meeting, Ann Derse was selected an honored member of CEIBC.
Attending the event Lithuanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Kestutis Kudsmanas spoke of
the importance of Azerbaijan`s possible WTO and EU membership.
