LIBYA HOPES TIES WITH MSIA REMAIN STRONG

KUALA LUMPUR, March 6 (Bernama) -- Libya which celebrated the 32nd
anniversary of the people's authority on Tuesday, hopes its ties with Malaysia
will remain strong.

Libyan charge de affairs here, Mohamed A.A. Alnfati, told Bernama this
during the celebration.

He also hoped that there would be progress especially in business, tourism
and expertise exchange. In terms of bilateral trade, Libya would would try to
enhance it because the present figures were still small, he said.

Besides, he said, Libya would also like to learn Malaysian experiences in
technology and development.

He said Libyan students were also drawn to the higher learning institutions
in Malaysia because of their quality and standing compared to those in developed
countries.

In addition, Malaysia served as a model of developed Islamic country, he
said.

Presently, there are over 4,000 Libyan nationals in Malaysia and about half
are university students.
