AZERI DEFENSE MINISTER MEETS COMMANDER OF TURKISH GENDARMERIE IN BAKU

Baku, March 10 (AzerTAc). Defense Minister of Azerbaijan Safar Abiyev met Tuesday with visiting Commander of the Turkish Gendarmerie Atilla Isik.

The talks focused on prospects for development of military cooperation between
Azerbaijan and Turkey, military and political situation in the region and the
Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Abiyev said there was a public concern in Azerbaijan over the news spread by Turkish
media on opening of the borders between Turkey and Armenia and expanding bilateral
ties.
Atilla Isik, in response, said his country will not take any action contrary to
Azerbaijan`s interests.
Turkish ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic was also present at the meeting.
