Twenty-five Lao students leave for study in Japan

(KPL) Twenty-five Lao students, who received scholarships from Japanese Government, are leaving for study in Japan soon.
A send-off reception for twenty-five Lao students who will start to study in Japan in April was held by Masaaki Miyashita Ambassador of Japan, yesterday at his residence.
Among these students, seven will enroll on post graduate courses (master and PhD) in the fields of sociology, economics, agriculture and rural development. Seventeen students will go to technology colleges, specializing in computer science, engineering, architecture and so forth. One student will start to study telecommunication at a professional training college. Their study will be funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of the Japanese Government.
At the reception, Ambassador Miyashita made a speech of encouragement for the students, emphasizing the importance of their studies in Japan and urging them to make significant contribution to national development. He also expressed the hope that the students will play the role of bridge between Laos and Japan in future. On behalf of the departing students, Mr. Phommy Inthichack, who will start a doctoral course in agriculture at Kochi University showed a resolution that he will commit to his study and do his best for the academic achievement.
The reception was attended by Mr. Ponemek Dalaloy, Minister of Public Health and President of Lao-Japan Friendship Association, Lytou Bouapao, Vice Minster of Education, Mr. Khamsing Sayakone, Chairman of the Economy, Planning and Finance Commission, National Assembly; and President of Lao-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Association, along with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the lecturers of the National University of Laos.
