EGYPTIAN AMBASSADOR VISITS AZERTAC



Baku, March 10 (AzerTAc). Ambassador of Egypt to Azerbaijan Sabir Adbulgadir Mansur
visited Wednesday Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency (AzerTAc).
Director General of AzerTAc Aslan Aslanov briefed the Ambassador on the history of
the Agency, founded in 1920.

Aslan Aslanov also spoke of development path of Azerbaijan since national leader
Heydar Aliyev returned to power, the national leader`s care and attention to the
Agency, as well as accomplishments achieved in the country under President Ilham
Aliyev`s leadership.
According to him, the fact that Azerbaijan has become the reigon`s leader and its
position strengthened in the world community contribute to expanding international
relations of AzerTAc.
Aslanov noted AzerTAc is a member of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies
(OANA) and European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA), adding the Agency is also one
of the founder members of the Black Sea Association of National News Agencies
(BSANNA) and Association of Turkish Speaking News Agencies (TKA).
The Director General underlined that last year his Agency hosted meetings of TKA and
OANA.
He also stressed the importance of boosting cooperation between AzerTAc and
Egypt-based MENA News Agency.
Sabir Adbulgadir Mansur, in turn, expressed his gratitude to Mr. Aslan Aslanov for
the detailed information. He praised development of relationship between Azerbaijan
and Egypt. The Ambassador stressed the importance of information exchange in
expanding relations between the two countries` peoples.
Sabir Adbulgadir Mansur said during his tenure he would spare no efforts to develop
multifaceted bilateral relationship including information exchange one.
The sides also discussed other issues of mutual concern.
Afterwards, the Ambassador familiarized himself with material and technical basis of
AzerTAc and conditions created for the Agency`s staff.
