MEMBERS OF AZERBAIJAN PARLIAMENT VISIT SWITZERLAND

Baku, 11 March (AzerTAc). A group of the members of Azerbaijan Parliament (Milli
Majlis) led by Bahar Muradova, Vice-Speaker of the Milli Majlis, on March 2-5 paid
an official visit to Switzerland, Azerbaijan Embassy to Switzerland told AzerTAc.
During their visit to Berne Azerbaijani delegates were received by Alain Berset,
incumbent President of the Swiss Council of States for the 2008/2009 term.
On March 3, members of the Azerbaijan Parliament were invited to Aargau canton
located in northern Switzerland to meet Peter C. Beyeler, President of the Cantonal
Executive. Later in the evening the Azerbaijan Embassy to Switzerland organized a
party to celebrate the establishment of Switzerland-Azerbaijan Inter-parliamentary
Friendship Group within the Swiss Parliament. The party was held at the Bellevue
Palace Hotel in Berne. Kristin Egerszegi-Obrist, Head of the Switzerland-Azerbaijan
Inter-parliamentary Friendship Society and a member of the Council of Cantons, Bahar
Muradova and the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Switzerland Elchin Emirbeyov addressed
the event. A documentary film about Azerbaijan was presented at the end of the
party.
