SR2.18 billion Al-Kur road to Taif to be ready in four months

JEDDAH, March 15, SPA – The Al-Kur Mountain road leading to Taif will
be ready in four months, Mufarrah Al-Zahrani, Director in the
Ministry of Transport, has said.


The SR2.18 billion project to expand the road began four years ago,
according to a report published today by Saudi Gazette.


The expansion of the road was essential to minimize the
possibilities of accidents or of vehicles falling into the valley.


The road’s width on each side is 10 meters and 15 centimeters and it
will allow three tracks on each side and provide for the easy flow of
traffic.


A very strong wall has been built to prevent vehicles from falling
into the valley while taking sharp turns. The total length of the
road from Al-Kur to Hada Bridge is 25 km. The work has reached its
final stage and will be completed soon.
