PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV INAUGURATES SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF DEFENSE INDUSTRY MINISTRY
Azerbaijan President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev has today inaugurated the Scientific Research Institute of the Ministry of Defense Industry.
The Head of State first laid flowers at the bust of the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev.
The President cut the ribbon symbolizing the official opening of the institute. He saw a video and viewed photos reflecting measures taken by nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev to bring Azerbaijan`s Armed Forces to modern standards and create defense industry in the country.
Minister of Defense Industry Yavar Jamalov told the President the building of the institute had been completely overhauled. The institute has a number of facilities, including engineering and laboratory complex, testing area, experimental factory and shooting range.
The President toured the factory which produces experimental equipment used in defense industry.
The Head of State was informed about the production process here, and then watched a documentary showing equipment testing.
Afterwards, President Ilham Aliyev viewed an exhibition of the factory`s products. He was informed about quality improvement tests of the BTR-70M armored troop-carrier. The President gave recommendations to develop the production here.
