“DEGREE AND PROFESSION” INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL ON “TRADITIONAL ISLAMIC ARCHITECTURE” KICKS OFF IN BAKU

Baku, March 16 (AzerTAc). In accordance with declaring Baku the Capital of Islamic Culture 2009, “Degree and Profession” International Festival on “Traditional Islamic Architecture” started Monday in the country.
The four-day event has been organized for students and young architects by Azerbaijan Culture and Tourism Ministry, Architecture and Construction University and Italy-based Romualdo Del Bianco Foundation.
The festival has brought together representatives from Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey and other countries.
The purpose of the festival is to present graduation works to students of universities located in various countries, to get acquainted with experiences of prominent architects and to attend workshops to be devoted to different directions of architecture.
The festival will contribute to protecting and popularizing the Eastern architecture across the world and capacity building of young specialists.
The Romualdo Del Bianco Foundation-initiated project will contribute to expanding cooperation between students and specialists of various countries` universities.
During the event, the participants will also hear reports.
Addressed the festival were Azerbaijan`s Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev, Education Minister Misir Mardanov, chairman of Architects` Union of Azerbaijan and Committee for City Building and Architecture Abbas Alasgarov and President of Romualdo Del Bianco Foundation Paolo Del Bianco.
