New Vientiane office construction to kick off next month
(KPL) Construction of the130 billion kip new headquarters of Vientiane Administration Office, another 450th anniversary celebration of the foundation of Vientiane Capital project will commence in April 2009.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was recently carried out by the mayor of Vientiane,
Sombat Yialiher on 9 March.
The old premises would be demolished and the new building, which would be more spacious would be rebuilt on the same site and it is scheduled to be completed in 18 months and so in time to showcase this building for the 450th anniversary celebration.
The cost of the construction of this building, 130 billion kip would be jointly funded by a Vietnamese company, Viet Phoung and a local company, Lao Somvang Chalern, said the mayor of Vientiane.
He also said that Vientiane Office would pay the two companies all the money it would owe them (130 billion kip) within a period of five years after completion of the construction of this building.
