Foreign scholars regarding Iran as safe country: Minister

Isfahan, Nov 26, IRNA – Iranian Minister of Science, Research, and Technology said on Monday that despite the propaganda spread against the country, foreign students and researchers still think Iran is a safe nation. “The attendance of students, elites, and researchers from various countries show that Iran, as an active country in the field of science and technology, can attract scholars from around the world,” said Mansour Gholami in the inaugural ceremony of Harkat National Student Festival held in Isfahan University. Their participation in such events also demonstrates that they trust them as well as our country to showcase their scientific achievements,” he added. He stressed that the attendance of scientific associations in such events should be considered as a starting point to further engage with the society and not just an end point. Gholami pointed to the creation of 5,000 knowledge-based companies as an example of the application of science, saying that the country is moving toward the application of scientific findings. He added that the festival is hosting 400 Iranian and international students. The eleventh edition of Harkat festival is organized by the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology from November 26-28.
