PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV TAKES PART IN NOVRUZ HOLIDAY MERRIMENT
Baku, 20 March (AzerTAc). A crowded merriment on the occasion of the national holiday of Azerbaijani people, Novruz, was held today in Baku.
President Ilham Aliyev, his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva and their daughter Leyla, as well as the Director-General of UNESCO Koichiro Matsuura took part at the holiday merriment.
Having joined the festivity, President Ilham Aliyev addressed the people, congratulated them on the Novruz holiday, dwelt on the accomplishments the country achieved in the last five years, spoke of the rise of the republic`s international reputation and the task for the coming years.
Then, the head of state and his spouse, the UNESCO Director-General watched the holiday merriment in the ancient Icherisheher, viewed samples of the artifact exhibition.
