Qatar Football Association President Meets Some Scandinavian Counterparts

Doha, January 07 (QNA) - HE President of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani met on Monday with a delegation of Scandinavian football associations, on the sidelines of the winter camps held by the national teams of Denmark, Norway, Faroe Islands, Sweden and Finland in Doha, which will also see a number of friendly matches. His Excellency met with President of Danish Football Association Jesper Moller, his accompanying delegation, President of Football Association of Norway Terje Svendsen and his accompanying delegation. His Excellency also met with President of Football Association of Finland Ari Lahti, Vice President of Faroe Islands Football Association and Vice President of Swedish Football Association Jorgen Eriksson. These meetings are a new start for the relations between the QFA and the other associations, which comes as part of QFA's aim to strengthen relations with all associations in different continents. During the meeting they discussed topics of common interest and ways to develop cooperation in the upcoming phase which serves the football system in both Qatar and all Scandinavian countries and strengthen the frameworks of cooperation between them. The meeting also discussed topics related to the football system that links both parties. The meeting also touched on ways to boost the relations which will benefit all parties, promotes the opportunity of exchanging expertise between all associations and ensures the development of football on all levels. The delegation will be visiting the Pavilion of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy to find out about Qatar's preparations and the great developments taking place for 2022 FIFA World Cup. They will also find out about the organizational expertise and potential, by looking at models that replicate the facilities and stadiums of the World Cup, which demonstrate the philosophy of football and what it suggests, and the legacy it will leave not only for Qatar, but for the region as a whole.
