Sixth Hathab Round Begins Friday

Doha, January 09 (QNA) - The sixth round of the national equestrian series Hathab which is organized by the Qatar Equestrian Federation (QEF) and Al Shaqab, member of Qatar Foundation, offering a total prize-money of QR 1.3 million, will kick off on Friday. The 12-leg series which runs till April 2019, will see its sixth competition, and first of the new year, at the indoor arena of Al Shaqab equestrian centre on Friday and Saturday. Hathab Competition 6 Schedule: Friday: Small Tour 110/115cm; Open Class 115/125cm. Saturday: Dressage; Medium Tour 120/130m; Big Tour 130/140cm. Hathab, meaning "Canter" in Arabic, is an initiative of HE President of the Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani. It is aimed at improving the standard of horse riding among Qatari youth while encouraging the involvement of private stables and individual horse owners to grow awareness of horsemanship as part of Qatar's history and tradition. The vision for Hathab is to inspire Qatar's next generation of international champions. (QNA)
