Procedures to join Yemen to GSO discussed

SANA'A, March 24 (Saba) - Minister of Industry and Trade Yahya
al-Mutawakel discussed here on Tuesday with Gulf Standardization
Organization (GSO) Secretary-General Anwar al-Abdullah the steps
achieved in the way of joining Yemen to the organization.

The two sides expressed their satisfactions for the steps
accomplished in this regard to speed up the accession as soon as
possible, especially after finalizing the related legal procedures.

The Minister noted the Yemeni-Gulf growing ties, indicating that
Yemeni economy rehabilitation to integrate in the GCC economies
represents a strategic goal for Yemen at the political, economical
and social levels

Al-Mutawakel pointed out that joining Yemen Standardization and
Meteorology Organization (YSMO) to GSO would facilitate the mutual
commercial exchange and support flowing Yemeni products into the
Gulf and international markets.

For his part, al-Abdullah expressed the GSO's keenness on offering
all needful requirements for finalizing procedures of joining YSMO
to GSO, pointing to the current cooperation between the two
organizations in training and technical areas.
