AZERBAIJAN EARNED AZN18.1m FROM GOODS AND PASSENGER TRAFFIC VIA TRACECA IN JANUARY
Baku, March 25 (AzerTAc). Cargo and passenger traffic via the Azerbaijani section of the TRACECA corridor earned the country AZN 18.1 million in the first month of 2009, the State Statistical Committee said.
According to the official figures for January, traffic made 3.2 million tons in goods, while the passenger traffic was 15.7 million people.
The share of the railway transport in the overall amount of cargo traffic constituted 44.5%, while motor transport 37.5% and sea transport 18%.
Cargo traffic via the Azerbaijani section of the corridor accounts for 24.1% in the overall amount of traffic in the transport sector.
