IPB STUDENTS TO FINAL ROUND OF WORLD FOOD TECHNOLOGY COMPETITION
Bogor, March 27 (ANTARA) - Students of the Bogor Agriculture Institute (IPB) secured a place in the final round of the international food technology competition to be held in the United States in June.
IPB spokesperson Henny Windarti said to ANTARA here on Thursday the competition was part of the Institute of Food Technologists Annual Meeting and Food Expo in Anaheim, California, on June 6 to 9 this year.
The four students who had made the great achievement were Galih Nugroho, Ari Try Purbayanto, Riza Aris Apriady, Catherine Haryasyah and Kamalita Pertiwi.
"They managed to become finalists of the Institute of Food Technologist Student Association's Developing Solutions for Developing Countries Competition," she said.
The team's research paper was titled "Healthy Instant Noodle from Corn with High Protein and Rich in Iron for Pregnant Women to Prevent a Lost Generation in Southeast Asia."
Galih Nugroho, one of the students, said the competition was participated in by students from various degrees who were selected upon their papers' summaries on product innovation and production.
Other teams that would compete in the final round were from the US and other countries.
For the final round finalists are requested to send their complete paper on product development and its process for direct expose before a panel of judges and also bring their sample of products.
