Shaikha Hayat named OCA women sport chairwoman

Manama, Mar. 12 (BNA): International Olympic Committee’s Athletes Entourage Commission member Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa was congratulated on becoming chairwoman of the Olympic Council of Asia’s (OCA) Women’s Sport Committee recently. Shaikha Hayat became the new chairwoman of the committee at the most recent OCA meeting, chaired by Shaikh Ahmed Al Subah in Bangkok. HH Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah was among leading sports officials congratulating Shaikha Hayat on this new post. Shaikha Hayat, who is also member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), thanked Sheikha Jawaher on this gesture, and vowed to strive in serving women’s sports locally, regionally and continentally.
