PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV CONGRATULATES STAFF OF NATIONAL SECURITY BODIES
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev congratulated staff of the country`s national security bodies on 90th anniversary.
President Aliyev in his greetings highly estimates security bodies` 90-years long glorious history which began in the dawn of the past century. Established as an intelligence and counter-intelligence department on March 28, 1919 during the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR), the security bodies have deservedly defended independence of the country, the letter runs.
The letter especially notes that under the late nationwide leader of Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev the security bodies have made huge contributions to protection of the national values of Azerbaijan. The Head of State reminds, in particular, invaluable role of the security bodies to protect national interests of Azerbaijan and ensure political stability in the republic during the early independence years.
“Equipped with modern technology, the security bodies today have achieved notable successes to ensure political-economic interests of Azerbaijan, protect constitutional structure, combat against foreign special services, transnational organized crimes”, the congratulatory letter states.
In his letter, President of Azerbaijan expressed confidence that the national security bodies would demonstrate adherence to Motherland, show patriotism and courage to defend security of Azerbaijani statehood.
