CEC SUMS UP REFERENDUM
Baku, March 30 (AzerTAc). Mazahir Panahov presided over the meeting of the Central Election Commission on Monday to discuss the results of the 18 March referendum.
The draft referendum act on “Amendments and Additions to the Constitution of Azerbaijan Republic” was adopted on December 26, 2008 by the Milli Majlis.
CEC members and secretariat employees implemented many education projects on referendum process and voting procedures.
The surveys show the period of campaign was used effectively and huge voter outreach work was done.
The meeting participants approved the CEC protocol on the referendum results and decided to consider as adopted the draft referendum act on additions and amendments. CEC also decided to have the text of the act published, announcing the results of the referendum.
Present at the meeting were representatives of the National Democratic Institute, International Foundation for Electoral Systems and media.
