Al Shaqab Holds Second Internal Competition

Doha, April 21 (QNA) - Al Shaqab, member of Qatar Foundation, organized the Second Internal Competition. The one-day event was held at Al Shaqabs state-of-the-art equestrian facilities and was open to student riders of all skill levels, including Beginner, Intermediate, Lead Rein, and Show Class. Hamad Al Suwaidi won first place for the show jumping <0.8 meters. Ahmed Al Muadeed won for the <0.4 meters event With horse riding becoming increasingly popular in Qatar, the demand for riding lessons at Al Shaqab has risen significantly. The center conducts regular training sessions, with instructions being made available for all skill levels, starting with students aged six and older. The competition is part of the curriculum followed at Al Shaqab. It has been organized for riders to show they have completed a certain skill level, while also helping to increase their ability and experience. In addition, the EED expects that by implementing the high standards of its school system, its technical staff will be further trained and developed in the organizing and management of major competitions. Al Shaqab is committed to nurturing and promoting Qatars renowned equine legacy. Viewing equine education as a vital community asset, the center offers a diverse range of riding lessons, equine training, and equestrian camps, to educate and promote horsemanship. Al Shaqabs popular EED has attracted several youngsters interested in riding, and there has been more than a 200 percent increase in riding school applications. By conducting events and competitions such as the Second Internal Competition for its riders, and showcasing the school curriculum, the Al Shaqab hopes to further encourage and inspire the next generation of riders.
