Aspetar International Conference on Medicine and Science in Athletics Kicks Off Friday

Doha, May 01 (QNA) - The first session of Aspetar International Conference on Medicine and Science in Athletics will begin on Friday with the participation of a group of world-renowned experts and will continue until May 5. The conference coincides with Doha's hosting of the first round of the Diamond League due to kick off on Friday under the sponsorship of Aspetar, and it is considered as a preparation for Aspetar teams to offer wider support during the 2019 World Athletics Championships in September. The conference will cover a number of the most important topics in the scientific arena with regard to athletes and sports sciences and medical support for teams and clubs during sports competitions with a focus on training and sports performance and how to prevent injuries and common diseases including, managing in-season tendon pain, hamstring, and bone stress injuries. The conference will witness the participation of a wide range of international and local experts specialized in this field. The conference targets a wide range of doctors, nursing staff, dietitians, sports scientists, researchers and trainers. Participants will receive 18.25 credit hours from Qatar Council for Health Practitioners. (QNA)
