AZERBAIJAN IS A PEACEFUL AND HUMANE COUNTRY, BELGIAN SENATOR

Baku, 31 March (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan is a peaceful and humane country, said Dominique Tilmans, Chair of the Belgian Senate`s Advisory Committee on Equal Opportunities for Men and Women.
Speaking to a press conference on results of her Baku visit, Tilmans said “Azerbaijan is a very modern country and we were extremely impressed by this”.
The Belgian Senator said the trip was aimed at increasing the awareness of the Belgian society about Azerbaijan.
Tilmans also touched upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, saying she believes Belgium may render its help in finding a peaceful solution to the dispute.
The Belgian Senator commented on current situation in Azerbaijan and praised the country`s sustainable economic development, saying it was possible thanks to a right policy. “Large-scale construction works across the city is a vivid evidence of this”.
Tilmans stressed the importance of the Nabucco project, saying she wants her country to support it as well.
She also touched upon women problems, noting Azerbaijan has very good records in this regard.
