Chinese ambassador to ASEAN visits Laos
(KPL) Deputy Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith and who is also Minister of Foreign Affairs received a courtesy visit of the Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN, Ms Xue Hanqin, on 30 March, in Vientiane.
Mr Thongloun congratulated her on her appointment as the new Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN, giving a clear signal that China is giving some importance to its relations with ASEAN.
The Chinese Ambassador expressed thanks for the warm welcome given by the Lao officials during her visit to this country from 28 to 30 March.
The Chinese Ambassador informed the Deputy Prime Minister on the outcome of the meeting of the ASEAN-Lao senior officials, held on 28 March.
During this meeting, she said the participants discussed ASEAN-China cooperation, ASEAN+3 cooperation and the East Asia Summit.
The objective of her visit is to dialogue with the local officials on the matter of future cooperation on ASEAN-China relations.
