Magnitude 8 earthquake hits Peru: USGS

An earthquake with a magnitude of 8 struck South American country of Peru, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said on Sunday. The epicenter of the tremor was 80 kilometers (49.7 miles) southeast of Lagunas district at a depth of 115 kilometers (71.4 miles), said the USGS. No casualties or material damages have been reported so far.
