AZERI DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER MEETS GERMAN COUNTERPART IN BAKU

Baku, April 2 (AzerTAc). Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov has met with his German counterpart Gernot Erler in Baku.
Khalafov praised the level of bilateral relationship and continuation of political dialogue between the two countries.
According to Khalafov, the two countries have great potential to boost bilateral relations in humanitarian, cultural and economic spheres.
Touching upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Khalafov said Armenia has been pursuing a policy of occupation and genocide against Azerbaijan.
He underlined the dispute must be settled on strict maintenance of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
Khalafov pointed out that Armenia`s position impedes the resolution of the conflict.
Gernot Erler, in turn, briefed Khalafov on the meetings he held in Baku during the visit.
He expressed satisfaction at the level of bilateral ties, as well.
Erler stressed his country supports Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity, and is curious about soonest resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and establishing peace in the region.
They also exchanged views on other issues of mutual concern.
