AZERBAIJAN PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV RECEIVES CREDENTIALS FROM NEW RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR
Baku, April 2 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev has received credentials from new Russian Ambassador Vladimir Dorokhin.
During the conversation, the Azerbaijani President said the two countries` relations are dynamically and successfully developing.
President Ilham Aliyev praised the fact Azerbaijan was the country Russian President Dmitry Medvedev had paid one of his first visits to.
The President characterized the bilateral relations as a strategic cooperation, which, according to him, has strong historical roots. The Azerbaijani leader said this was reflected in a declaration on friendship and strategic cooperation they signed with President Dmitry Medvedev during his Baku visit.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence the Azerbaijan-Russia relationship will further develop.
Ambassador Vladimir Dorokhin conveyed Russian leader Dmitry Medvedev`s greetings to the Azerbaijani President.
He said before leaving for Baku he met with the Russian President, adding “Dmitry Medvedev has the same views on the bilateral relations”.
The Ambassador said the Russian President regards the Azerbaijan-Russia relations as ones between the allies.
Vladimir Dorokhin vowed to spare no efforts to contribute to strengthening the bilateral relations during his tenure in Baku.
